Calicut Branch of ICAI
The Calicut Branch of the Southern India Regional Council of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India was inaugurated on 26th June 1982.
The Calicut Branch got approval to set up an examination centre in May 1986.
The first building of the branch office in own premises and an auditorium was inaugurated on2nd September, 1987. The auditorium in the branch building was named as ‘P.A.Nair Memorial Hall’.
Our Branch is the first branch in Kerala to set up a Computer Centre. inaugurated on 10th October 2000.
The branch got accreditation from ICAI for conducting oral coaching classes in the year 2002.
In its Silver Jubilee year of 2008, Calicut Branch completed the construction of 2nd floor and modified the existing first floor and ground floor. The silver Jubilee Building block housing a computer centre, class room and library, modified ground and first floors including air conditioned seminar hall, administrative office, guest room and Chairman’s cabin was inaugurated on 25th January, 2008.
A Student’s Auditorium at third floor for accommodating the oral coaching classes was inaugurated on 4th December 2008. With this branch was able to bring all the services required for members and students under a single roof.
The branch has many more miles to go and challenges to face and the members should gear up to accept the challenges and come forward wholeheartedly for the common good of the profession.
